The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia in association with the ACT Library & Information Service will be presenting the “Taiwan Sublime” Photography and Taiwan Indigenous Culture Exhibitions from 23 August to 30 September, 2010, at Civic Library, Canberra City. The "Taiwan Sublime" Photo Exhibition features various images captured by four Taiwanese photographers: namely Messrs Chen Chih-hsiung, Chi Po-lin, Liu Chen-hsiang, and Huang Ting-sheng. Chen’s photos illustrate the subtle contrast of light and dark hues which are typical in twilight scenery. Chi, on the other hand, is known for his aerial photography and various images of Taiwan’s changing landscape. Viewers who would like a taste of local Taiwanese culture will find Liu’s images of dance troupes and Huang’s snapshots of religious festivals a visual treat. Their photos encapsulate Taiwan’s landscapes, diverse cultural scenes, and different religious aspects. In conjunction with the "Taiwan Sublime" Photo Exhibition, cultural artifacts of Taiwan Indigenous people such as cloth weaving, bamboo weaving, and assorted apparel and accessories will be showcased at the exhibition.
