Startup Camp Canberra
Looking for an opportunity to re-live the heady days of the late 1990s when geeks with a cool idea for the next 'killer application' became instant millionaires?
Well, unfortunately, those days are long gone, but the potential of the 'killer ap' is still very much alive. However, in today's economic climate, it take more than a clever technology idea-- there also has to be a viable business unpinning that application surrounded by first-class marketing, branding and business development.
Experiencing the thrill of launching a web business and learning-by-doing is the purpose of Start-Up Camp Canberra. Over the course of a single weekend, teams will be formed, brain storms will result in idea tsunamis, business strategies developed, code written and (hopefully) a web application launched to the world. On the Sunday, your team gets to present its business to the world at a special media launch event and get critiqued by actual web technology investors (even some wizened old characters who actually experienced the tech boom!).
