The Starlight Children’s Foundation needs your support this Starlight Day 07 May to help raise $2.8 million to ensure Starlight can brighten the lives of seriously ill and hospitalised children across Australia.
Starlight needs 7,000 volunteers to collect donations and sell merchandise in shopping centres, central business districts and train stations across Australia between Thursday 6 – Sunday 9 May. In the ACT, volunteers will be found at various locations such as Westfield Belconnen, Westfield Woden, Canberra Centre and Centro Hyperdome Shopping Centre.
2010 will be the fifth Starlight Day for 22 year old Ericka Flores from Mawson who will be collecting donations at Westfield Woden on May 8th. “I’ve been volunteering since I was 18. I really appreciate what Starlight does for kids because one of my friends was in and out of hospitals as a child and during that time she had some personal experiences with Starlight so I know they do make a difference.” She strongly urges others to follow in her lead and be proactive in helping brightening the lives of seriously ill children.  “I highly encourage people to volunteer, I always recruit my friends.
